OT: What is anti-spatter and mig-dip?

I'm thinking it is just Pam vegetable oil spray. It says "no silicone" and "paintable", so I don't know what it is. Oily though. Maybe it's goose grease? I've heard of using vaseline as nozzle dip, but oiling base metal seems bad joo-joo. Bee's wax emulsion, or what?
