The B&B was too small on my 230- it made 2" of vacuum at full speed. Any of the more modern carbs for as big an engine would be an improvement. But you will need one with a factory manual choke, or an integral electric.
The Holley off of a /6, or the Monojet from a GM six would be good choices.
