Give up, HE don't wanna play catch. He's a retriver dog, as long as he's fetchin, all is fine. I say let him pick the game next time. haha Paul, I don't see you as the type to shrink from a challenge, but this situation is more of your hangup than his. Maybe the shepard told the new guy "don't even think about playing catch with the master or theres gonna be trouble", I hope this reply comes across in the good natured manner it was intended.
