missing engine part(s)

I'm attempting to restore a 1955 2-ton dodge truck with a 265 6 cylinder engine. I'm missing a part and not sure what it is. This part is on the exterior of the left (drivers) side of the engine. It is just in front of the starter, behind the distributor and below the external oil filter canister. It is diamond shaped with threaded holes on all four corners. The holes at the top and bottom have a grove around them similar to what would contain an o-ring.

I think they are related to the oil system. Can anybody tell me what should go here?
