There's some stuff they sell now just to remove silicone caulk. I got it at our local True Value hardware store. I can't remember what it's called. It's even supposed to be fairly non-toxic. It doesn't totally dissolve the silicone, but it makes it crumbly and loose so it's easy to remove.
