Front axle for hauler?

Got a phonecall from an acquaintance, checking to see if I still had any W500 parts. On a tight budget he's putting together a hotshot hauler, 4wd to be sure he can drive out of those soft and slippery spots. I believe the frame is Dodge (34" width on rails), wheels will 19.5, 20, or 22.5 (he does know adaptors will likely be required), driveline is Cummins to Getrag to NP205 to around a 15,000lb rear (not yet determined).
His question is: Which front axle? I discouraged him on the W500/600 Timken/Rockwell 7,500 front due to only fair brakes and poor locking hub availability. I could sell him a couple '61-68 70F axles in either 4.88 or 5.87 ratio complete from Warn hub to hub, but don't feel the brakes will be up to his needs. My final suggestion was a newer disc brake 60F, for ready availability of used assy. aftermarket parts - thoughts and input?

Thanks, Joe
