Carryall running boards and seat question

A couple carryall questions here, For running boards that are toast, do sectioning the longer PW running boards do keep the ends work in place? I won't be putting the spare on the side.

And for the folding front seat to allow access to the back, are people using a jeep passenger assembly, or does that allow the seat to go too far forward into the windshield.
