Could be. At this point, we're all about at the limit of our speculating. He didn't say anything about black smoke, but when I've had a rig flood, it rarely puts out much black smoke. It seems that the range of richness for running with black smoke (in between "runs good" and "won't run") is pretty narrow. It's not like diesel where you can overfuel it to an insane degree (like when the turbo blows while you're going up hill at full power, speaking from experience) and it will still run while spewing out clouds of black smoke.
