I dont remember the fianl amount cut off. I started wacking it, then installing and seeing how the steering wheel felt for 'my' comfort. After a few wacks, it felt right for long drives. So far on my trucks, I have used Sweet # 9 & # 11. It all depends on the OD and Spline on the Saginaw Box.

Measure your Saginaw Box input shaft OD and Spline count. Then go to www.sweet.biz
click on the box for Steering U Joints and select the U Joint with the proper ID/Spline count and the other side of the U Joint with the ID to match the OD of your steering shaft.

It makes no difference if you use a Dodge or GM Saginaw Reverse Rotation PS Box, You will find different input shaft OD/splines. Measure/count yours to be sure of what you have
