Leon. As David said, you want to be able to turn the winch both ways under power. Imagine winching a log or a vehicle and while the load is against the winch you have to change positions or somehow it requires freeing the load up. You will never get the clutch on the winch to disengage without first reversing the winch under power. Single direction ptos are fine for hydraulics which in turn will have a valve that will allow you to run forward or reverse. Did you decide not to pursue the hydraulic drive for your winch? Jerry
