Like others have said I have old tools that came down the line from my dad, my grandfather, an uncle, etc. I have many of my grandfather's old carpentry tools, including a very old hand miter saw. But probably the tool I use the most is a Snap-On 3/8" ratchet I bought nearly 55 years ago for $12.00. About 15 yeaars ago the gears in it wore out. I found the Snap-On truck at one of his stops and asked if it could be repaired. He handed me a brand new one and said "It's under lifetime warranty". I then asked him if he could fix mine so I could still have it and not a brand new one. It just wouldn't be the same.
He pulled the gear set out of the new one and put it in mine and away I went..same tool with a new heart. JH
