but I had to think about this. Nick, you and I are in the same business, we are just on oposite sides of th US. I have been to your state numerous times to assist as a crewman all the way to a type 2 Plans Chief. The public, I feel, will be at risk. Your state is one that if anything bad can happen there, it already has happened and will occur again and again. Emergency services are no joke in CA. They see it all, and kind of set the pace for the rest of the country. Good luck and stay safe on the short crew. It's not your fault that someone is having a bad day when you get called, all you can do is try and change it to the best of your ability to make the situation better. Just don't end up a statistic because you're short one fire fighter, one engine, an air plane, etc. Some chances are not worth taking, especially if you have loved ones waiting at home. Deal with the budget, but take care of youself and your brothers (and sisters) first!
