when you use your proportion control what do you set the bias at front vs rear? do you have a quantitative means of testing? do you adjust based on loads you pickup and transport after the orig setting? i built my trucks using the discs front and rear as described. i tested them as best i could doing simulated panic stops from speed on different surfaces. i couldn't get the truck to do anything but stop in a straight line and behave comparably to the non abs brakes on my previous pickup / non abs suvs. i believe that a correctly dialed in boosted system might be superior to an unboosted one, but in my applications, at the max speeds my driveline setups would allow, could not envision a benefit. in a boosted system that depends on a power steering pump pressure for steering and brakes as opposed to vacuum for brakes & hydraulic for steering, i would be more concerned about a hydraulic problem taking out 2 systems than anything else. i think the brakes ray designed + a dual master more than handle the task at hand. its all preference. with regards to legality, no matter what you do and how safe you try to be a modified vehicle is modified. if your insurance allows modifications then you would be covered to some limited extent. the real world is if you are in an accident, you will be sued. there is no one out there that will certify any modifications & no one will be on the hook except you. get the max insurance you can and carry a high umbrella policy. keeping your rigs up to snuff would only likely keep you from being charges criminally. enjoy life, drive reasonably and carry insurance.
