Dodge WW2 Military Portfolio 1940-1945 by Brooklands Books includes the following details regarding the evolution of the WC62 and WC63:

82022344: WC63 winch capacity upgraded from 5,000 to 7,000 lb (cable diameter increased from 7/16 to 1/2 inch; winch drive u-joint and shear pin strengthened to suit).

82038949: Front spring clip plates changed on all models (including 4x4) to accept Monroe telescopic shock absorbers (which were used on ambulances) as well as the customary Delco type with lever and link.

It also says that TM9-2008 of February 1953 refers to the transfer case being 1.96 to 1 ratio instead of the 1.5 to 1 ratio. It is not clear if this change was in the late production run or just in the the ordinance rebuild specifications.

Has anyone out there got an original WC51, WC52, WC62 or WC63 with telescopic shocks? I plan to add a pair for my PW 6x6 conversion.
