Cab Floors

My 50 FFPW cab is about ready to prime. Were all the floors flat. When you take off the two sides and leave in the center section there are offsets bent down on the outsides of the hole in the cab. But the floors just go over top of them. Did any year use these offsets? Seems the floor would be stronger if it had a bend to match the contour of the cab. It wouldnt be very hard to make the floor match these offsets. Lets here some pros and cons.
