I woke up this morning and looked outside in the drive, and out onto the pasture. Then I start to count, 1,2,3,4, Power Wagons, 1 rolling 1/2 ton wc chassis, 1/2 ton sweptline parts truck, a early PW cab, doors, grills, radiators, bracketts, engine parts new and used (some for stuff I dont even know but it came in a military crate so I grabbed it!), running boards, driveshafts, 5 1speed xfercases, various M-37 sheetmetal parts (I dont even own a M-37!) Frames, springs, and a hoist out of a burma ford bomb truck. And theres two more early PW's over at my folks house. This week I will be bringing a non-running GMC 6x6 home to park out in the pasture. A freaking 6x6!!! What the heck am I going to do with that? And what's next, a tank?!? Somehow I have rationalized to myself that I can plow snow with the 6x6 (which I can but try to turn one of those around in your driveway!)and save on some wear and tear of the PW. I have also envisioned making a awesome crewcab brusfire truck out of it as I know where theres another cab to be had, and a 500 gal watertank. What am I saying?? You see what I mean about the sickness. I think it started at a very early age for me as my first car was a M38A1 jeep. At 16 years of age I had one military jeep to drive and another one around the back of the garage for a parts truck. When I joined the Marines I had a reputation for always having spare parts for our Hueys in my flight bag or wall locker. I guess from there it just blossomed when I got the PW bug. Thank God I have a understanding wife who thinks early PW's are really neat. Unfortunatly, she hates the 6x6 and it's not even home yet!
