The M-211 is a 2 1/2 ton 6x6 made by GMC. It has a sloping nose, unlike the M35 built by Reo.

The M-211 uses 10 9.00x20 tires, dualed on the rear axles, while its mate the M135 uses six 11.00x20 tire, running singles on the rear axles. The beds are different. The M211 uses a bed similar to the M35, while the M-125 uses a bed similar to the M34. The M-211 is rated for heavier loads than the M-135.

These trucks have an eight speed automatic transmission.

Parts are readily available. A friend just rebuilt the automatic on his M-211. A brake job cost him less than one for an M-37 4x4.

The X in XM-211 would indictate an experimental prototype or pre-production M-211. Are you sure the data plates actually say XM-211?

Here's a rather poor photo of the M211, and a link to Green Six, a 6x6 registry site with info and photos.
