James Brady DID NOT serve out his term as press secretary, Marlin Fitzwater took his place after the Hinckley shooting. He has a very low mental capacity and is used as a prop by his wife Sara. She pushes him around in his wheel chair and parks him in front of various politicians and delivers one of her anti-gun rants. You are mostly correct about the meaning of the second amendment. While Australia and the UK do have different forms of goverments, do you think that their citizens or "subjects" ever believed that they would be barred from owning firearms and that their guns would being confiscated without compensation? The comparison is relevant in that respect. Now, what about California? Are you familiar with what is occuring with their gun laws? Our goverment may continue to stand, but, our citizens individual rights will not if we continue to elect people who believe that the goverment is better able to make decisions for us the we are. This can occur when we reach the state of apathy that we have now. I believe that this election will be a turning point in our nations history. Regards, Andy Tierney
