I just went through all this monkey motion and here is the skinny (without metal OR rubber electrical connectors). Paul at M.A.R.S and Bob at Veteran Vehicles are very helpful and very easy to work with. There are 2 designs of Lockright out there - old and new. All the old were supposed to be returned from stock years ago but weren't. Hence I ended up with an older (read as poorer design) one some time ago. It broke, I was to stupid to know it, sheared one axle, still to stupid to know, finally other axle sheared. No I know why my left rear tire always wore faster than the RH (because that was all that was pushing the truck down the road!) Sent off to VV since I don not have tools to take the carrier apart. Lockright has changed hands but Paul and Bob worked with me and 2+ months later it is back in my M37 with the new style locker and VV brass thrust washers in it (don't use the fibre ones). Cost me $$ but I now have a locker that works and my truck doesn't pull . You can bet that now I listen for that tell tail click of the locker when I make the 180 degree turn uphill into my driveway. Do yourself a favor and send it to Bob at VV. He said that sometimes the new lockers stick but the more you click them then they work properly. He won't send one out until it is loosened up properly. Anyway, give me a couple years on this new locker and I will tell you if it lasted (I will be mad if it doesn't) Seems like the old style failed frequently ??? but the new doesn't. I am curious if you have a new or old (Bob can tell them apart I can't). I am interested in other users experienced comments on this.
