I'm in the process of putting my steering knuckles back together and the book says to use gear oil for the lubricant up to the level of the plug.
I've been told by more than one to use grease. It seems that if I use grease, it would create a tunnel inside the grease and possibly starve the steering knuckle of lubrication.
What is the correct lubricant?
