WC Radiators: 1/2 vs 3/4?

Hey,
I am asking without looking because the trucks are too far away. Are the 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton WC Rads interchangeable? The 3/4 opens exterior, the 1/2 underneath. I know the grills/hoods are different. Anyone know for sure? Thanks, Jim
