+ Better pavement & 2wd performance, reduced wear on front driveshaft & axles, less tire wear, better gas milage.
- Weaker than stock drive flanges for 4wd. Subject to impact & enviromnent damage. Keep a pair of drive flanges under the seat...just in case.
Without a locker or limited slip at either or both ends, 4x4's have 1 wheel at each end. It is possible to be immobilized with a couple wheels on the ground & two spinning wildly. In most stock open differential vehicles, to wheel of least resistance gets the power!
