You don't really need the wood bed replacement kit. Being in Scotland and not wanting to pay for international shipping on a pile of timber I just dissassembled the original bed, took it down to my local wood place, and got all the bits copied for about 100 USD equivalent. The really crucial thing was to save all the bits on dissassembly by using a blow torch to roast all the studs and nuts before turning them.

Take time to strip it, repair any of the captive nuts up inside the rear corners, get the metal panels blasted and painted before reassembly, and you shouldn't have any problem.

VPW and Roberts both supply the original type bed bolts, wear strips, etc, and in my personal opinion you'd be better off spending your money on them.
