The "lecture" was indeed from Jimmy Carter.
One of the worst presidents (based also on a recent survey of professional historians) we have had in decades. A lot of the problems we are dealing with today had their genesis under his administration. For example the origins of the sub prime mortgage fiasco that has led to our current financial mess started with some of his "feel good" legislation to push home ownership on people who really could not afford homes. Bill Clinton revived this kooky idea and really got it going with one of his corrupt cronies he put in at Fanny May, as well as democratic party help in congress.
I wish the public were told of this, but I doubt the media will do their job.
During the recent campaign, I told a family member that was a big Obama supporter that I sincerely hope that he is not another Jimmy Carter. If so, then we would really be in trouble. Time will tell and I am hoping for the best.
