Generally Power-Wagon enthusiasts, as a group, don't get too worked up about the whole "numbers matching" thing like the special interest auto collectors do. We don't have concours type judging where you get points deducted if your particular truck didn't happen to come from the factory with the decal on the air filter housing pointing in that particular direction that you like it. Heck, some here would even remove an original firetruck body from their truck to replace with something else........... ;^)

So, with all that in mind, I would say that whether or not the WDX originally came from the factory with the pulley drive is unimportant. The rarity of the overall truck tends to carry more weight as far as value to those here. An early WDX is rarer than a later WDX. So my opinion is that it would command a higher auction price even though there was no build card listing the options that may be found on it.
