The biggest problem with RTV is it's not used properly. People think you apply it and slap it together,result it squeezes out,as you know.
Now if you apply a bead and let it set up,it works much better.
And never use RTV with a gasket,or O ring. It will leak everytime.
I have Right stuff and it works great It's more rubbery than silicone.
Permatex has been around a long time and make good products.
