California wanted about $2000 to register my truck - brought it into the state about 3 years ago and was dumb (honest) enough to tell them that. It's either been on a registered trailer or private property the whole time. They want the back registration, plus fees, plus back weight fees, plus fees on the back weight fees... you get the idea. Still trying to figure out the best course from here - not going to pay them that much... even if the state does pay my salary.
