You all really need to reconsider NOT placing this legislation in the Bill. No matter what you all think you know, down in the street, middle to lower income people in the US (of which there are many today) are not going to be turning in their old used car to get a tax rebate to apply to a newer more expensive vehicle. This little incentive is not going to entice people to spend a lot on a newer car.

What middle to low income people need is a tax incentive to FIX UP their old car, AS THAT IS ALL THEY CAN AFFORD. This would help the aftermarket used parts delears, auto parts stores, etc. The big three are not selling cars because the economy is bad.

WHY is the economy bad ? BECAUSE you all allowed many of the good US Jobs to be shipped off shore and to Mexico. Too much of this Global Economy. How are you all helping the average American ? You are voted in to represent the American People. American People are resourceful. They rebuild old clunkers and keep them going because that all that many can afford. If the parts cars start getting scrapped, this will just drive up the price of what is left, so how is that helping the American people, even with a tax break ?

How do you expect American Middle and Lower Income familes buy any newer car, even a decent $ 10.000.00 used car when you all have allowed so much of our US dollars to move off shore with the jobs. Get Real, and give a tax break for those keeping their older vehicles and buying up the used parts and parts cars to keep their older vehicles running.
