I would invest in a Service manual. Tehre is definitely alot to learn when working thses trucks. I couldn't know what I have learned without manuals. saves time and mistakes. What size tires are on hte truck? if it is running good and has the 9.00 16 tires you should be able to run 50 MPH consistently. I run 55 but only with a rebuilt, bablanced, cammed, and shaved engine. Except for right now as I dont have a running PW ;/)
