It's a regular dodge fuel sender except they cut the cut the rod and welded 14.5" of extra rod in it. No doubt the extra length made it harder for a soggy float to do its job, but I was amazed at how soggy it was. When I took it out of the tank it weighed 23 grams. After an hour in the oven, it was down to 18. After a day, it was 9 grams. I doped up the old cork with some glyptal varnish I had sitting around, since that's supposed to be good for sealing the insides of engine blocks, so I figured it was fuel-resistant. But then, as I mentioned, I decided to try the quick and easy fix, which is a piece of heavy-duty packing foam. A day of soaking in gasoline didn't affect it, so I'm giving it a try.
