Businesses fail and if you take away the ability to fail then you just create mediocrity.

Now let's understand something about "foreign manufacturers". You do not have to work for them. I am pretty sure that involuntary servitude is prohibited in Canada as it is in the U.S.

Also, you don't have to buy a foreign car, they are not "forced down our throats", you are a competent adult and make your own decision, make one not to buy a foreign car, but don't force your neighbor to adopt your viewpoint.

Additionally, GM, Chrysler and Ford are publicly held companies, that means they sell stock and, horrors of horrors, that stock is available to be purchased by anyone, anywhere in the world. That's right, Japanese, Chinese and even Nigerians are "owners" of the "Big Three" and even more surprisingly, Honda, Nissan and Toyota are publically held companies that Americans hold stock in and are "owners" of.

We live in a global economy. We can take our marbles and go home and we will be the poorer for it.

What we neeed to do is to get govenment out of the way in the form of policies that give tax breaks to manufacturers that move manufacturing offshore. We need to get rid of double taxation on foreign generated income. We need to get government out of the way in stiffling regulations that inhibit innovation of new technologies that instead go to China and India because of those regulations. We need to end unlimited immigration by low-skilled peasants and instead create an express lane to citizenship for anyone with a Masters or P.H.D. and a desire for freedom that wants to join this grand experiment we call America.

Let's start a race to the top, not to the bottom.
