HAHA! Yeah I hear you! The PO of my 47 put a regular modern fuel filter in line right at the carb. The glass bowl is still down by the fuel pump. I have been thinking about taking the filter back out of the loop but its not hurting anything.
My old truck with its flathead and 6 volt still runs in 103 summer temps and will start in the single digits with no troubles. The lights are as bright as my other 12volt old iron. I think a lot of people create more problems when they start adding different things or changing out things on these old trucks.
