It's funny how those kind of people never tell you to your face what they don't like about you. They just go and whine to the government. I went around and around with a guy a couple years ago who built a new house right across the street from where I park my trucks, and then commenced to demand that the city make me get rid of my trucks. All of them were titled and running, and there was nothing else on the lot except the trucks (no parts, lumber, etc.) He even went so far as to write me two letters on city letterhead, which the mayor signed without reading them. After 2 nasty letters, two meetings with the mayor, and a meeting with the planning and zoning commission, I settled the whole thing by building a fence across the front of my lot. The complainer even came over and helped me build it and raved about how good it looked. We could have saved both of us and the city a whole lot of time and hassle if he'd just come over right at the beginning and told me he'd like me to build a fence so he didn't have to look at my trucks.
I think governments should make it harder, not easier, for people to get the government involved in neighborly disputes. Make people actually talk to each other first, and most of the time they can settle it pretty easy.
