I may be a a-hole,but does anyone think how much money the big three has made over the years?Stop for a minute and think how many years parts on just our old Dodges will interchange. In my way of thinking if you make a mold for a part and use it for 20+ years, how can that take profits down??Who is getting the extra bucks?Union workers?Kick them out then..For an example on parts interchange..I have a 90 CTD 1-ton and I just put parts from a 74 D-100 on(brake booster and peddle plus..).I have done this type of swap for years.I have some experiance with Chebys also.67-72 parts will interchange. If a automaker can convince a bunch of idiots(putting it nicely)that a price of say a 1974 Dodge is ruffly $4000,00 dollars new, then compare a 1990 Dodge at a price tag of 24,000.00 then that is a awsome racket. There are differences yes,but I challenge anyone to set down and compare. Some examples of differnces, becides the use of plastics rather than good old fashioned aluminum and steel..is body lines?Does anyone realize you can put a 74 Dodge truck body on a 90 frame with little to no modification? How about you guys in the flat-fender business? How many years will parts interchange?I have done most of my experiances with trucks from 74-90.I understand inflation, but man..I think they have taken things to extreems.I have worked on lathes making brass fittings and the machines I were running were made in the 30s.They had been re built yes,but were basically the same as they were new.The big three are broke for one simple reason-GREED.and until good American people realize this fact,we will continue to "Bail the idiots"out. Just my 2-cents worth...
