There are different width axles depending on whether they are from a dual rear wheel or single rear wheel truck. It has been common to put a DRW front diff on a truck and change to SWR hubs to get a narrower track if you do not want the full width.
I do not think you will find an axle where you will not need to change the spring perch location.
