No, both the "donor" engine and the one in my truck have the hand crank bolt (now that I know it's a bolt). What I don't understand is why the military one has 6 bolts holding the stamped pulley to the hub, and the civilian one has none. It sounds like the right way to get it off is to remove the crank bolt and pull the hub and pulley together.

If the civilian hub and the military hub are different, I won't be able to put my military pulley on my civilian hub, so I really can't do anything with it until I can get back out to where my parts trucks are and pull the hub from the engine I got the pulley off of. It also looks like I need to change the timing cover. Since I probably can't do that until spring, especially if the blizzard they're predicting this weekend happens, I'm thinking I'd best just put it back together with the civilian crank pulley and hope it spins everything fast enough, at least so I can keep working other things on the truck this winter, and drive it around a little.
