Mike, in two weeks I will retire from 40+ years as a teacher and school administrator. In the morning (December 8th) I will show my kids (for the last time) a commemorative video that describes the shock and aftermath. I have done this every year that I have had the opportunity as far back as I can remember.

This past August I stood on the "Surrender Deck" of the "Mighty Mo" where it is parked within eyesight of the Arizona's grave. The guide was explaining in Japanese to a tour group that the war "started over there and ended here." I took the extended tour down below deck and saw the kind of claustraphobic, un-air conditioned quarters those brave souls labored during general quarters. It is an experience that is not easily forgotten.

For the "Greatest Generation" that fought to preserve our freedom, I can never say or do enough to inform the young and ignorant what price was paid. If any reading this that served, I want to THANK YOU, I will never forget.
