I got the back off fairly easily but as you know, the battery looks sort of permanently installed. I was not going to try getting this out until I knew it did not work. Got to hook the ground back up now and test it again.

I had it on my old Ferguson tractor. The rpm response is very slow but after seeing what various rpms sound like, I didn't need it from the tach anymore anyway. But I did use the hour meter to keep track service stuff. Anyway, since it quit working, I thought I would put in a proper hour meter. Like everything else that looks simple, this is harder than I thought because of the lack of room on the Ferguson "dash" for another instrument (I have some others there already).
