Good guess, but I never use the winch because the big gear is almost stripped out. I know what it feels like when the tires are frozen to the ground or the drive train is wound up from driving in 4WD on dry pavement. There's always a little bit of give when you try to move it. Given that I have a funky winch drive mechanism that goes through a separate rear gearbox and then back out to the winch in the front, a bound up winch would still allow all those drivelines and U-joints to twist a little. In this case, with the shift lever in 1st gear. I could rev up the engine and let the clutch out until the engine stalled or I smelled burning clutch, and it wouldn't even attempt to move the slightest bit. It's really got me stumped. It will probably have to wait until spring now because it's out at my cabin and we're supposed to get snow this weekend.
