Eric,
In one year Chrysler has eliminated 4 vehicles and planned the deletion of 6 more for 2009 (you can't just stop on a dime, these vehicles represent WORKERS) a responsible company finds new jobs or tasks for these line workers and lays them off as a last resort).
They have made 244 interior changes to over 14 models. They have lowered the number of recalls by 49%.
They have eliminated and restructured nearly 1000 dealerships.
This is not a bailout, it is a loan. Read my posts, I list the items that the CAB is asking Chrysler to respond to, including loan structure.

A LOT, if not MOST Americans, do not realize that the first 25 billion was not a gift, or a bailout, it was mandated by congress as a trade-off because the government mandated, new CAFE standards, will cost Detroit 150 billion dollars to achieve. The 25 billion was the government bribe to get enough lawmakers to
vote for more government interference in the marketplace.
What would Davy Crockett's' vote have been?
