Control? No, they don't control government surplus sales. But they do employ or indirectly effect the employment in the neighborhood of 4-5 million registered voters. When they talk, elected officials listen, no matter how bad of a dog and pony show is put up to chastise the "bad managers" of Detroit. So what do they really control? And when they go to the altar to ask for forgiveness and money, what are they really asking for in the back rooms? How does a Govt agency detect that terrorists are after M-35 trucks? Without input from the manufacturers who don't want their marketing ploys spoiled by cheap surplus M-35's?

Terrorism? Give me a break. If the terrorists put together an effective plan of attack and execute it, we're going to take it on the chin. And there aren't enough M-35 trucks out there to scrap that will prevent it. Hey, I'm missing something here. The terrorists are in Afghanistan, Central Africa, and Pakistan, not on-line bidding on M-35 trucks... So why are we waisting time and money changing DOD policy that doesn't make it easier to pull triggers and kill terrorists? You decide.
