Yep the "book" will only give you a general answer (sometimes the incorrect answer). The "book" is a point to start from. There are many variables including the brand of tires on the truck. My 52 has Michelin ZXL 9.00 x 16 tires. Those things are much larger in diameter that the 9.00 x 16 that came on the truck. I know Mikey said that 9.00 x 16 have a specific radius but that is a general standard which all manufactures do not follow at all times.

The speedometer is now reading 10% low with the ZXLs when it read 5% high with the last set of tires (It is really nice for the cops to put out those portable reader board radar guns. I have checked all my cars against several of them in the area and my results are very consistent).
