These were used by the airforce as forceable entry rescue trucks. Approximately 386 were built. Long wheel base chassis with a custom aluminum body on the rear. The ladder did go in the tunnel from inside. There were rollers to speed the install and retrieval of the ladder. Additionally, a variety of specialty tools and a full foaming spray system was inside. A DC generator was also inside to power the hand tools carrier aboard. These were always painted red on the outside and a funny off white inside. Parts for the back ends are very difficult to obtain and very expensive if you do find them.
