An interesting thing about old movies. The older actors were trained up in the theater so they had to talk very distinctly and loudly to be heard in the upper gallery.
Todays actors were trained up in TV. They mumble and are indistinct when speaking. The movies make up for it with action shots and close ups.
I can hardly watch modern movies as I cannot understand a word they are saying. A case in point is "24" and the Jason Bourne series. I had to read the Bourne series twice and watch the movie three times to understand what was happening. Of course in my old age my hearing ain't what it used to be.
We watch for the good old movies on TCM or get tapes of the old movies.
