I bought a new '03 2500 Dodge CTD, drove it 3 years and sold it to my younger son. I then bought an '06 2500 Dodge CTD. Meanwhile my older son bought an '04 3500 Dodge CTD. These 3 trucks are identical as to running gear, with the exception of the transmissions. Rear axle capacity (according to the ID plate) is greater on the 3500, but only because the springs have more leaves. Rear axles are all the same. You probably will have a little more stability with the dual rear wheels in the 3500, but frame and axle strength as far as I can see are all the same. Oh, yes, the 3500 came with clearance lights on the cab (standard). I agree with Dan. The SRW trucks are much better looking than the DRW, in my opinion. JH
