23 years ago this past thanksging (Canadian)we were running our hounds about 2 hours east of our farm > We were hunting rabbits ,the hounds jumped a deer and took off, miles out, away from swamp we were in .So we headed in the direction of the hounds for a hour we trailed the dogs so we stopped by this pond to catch our breaths. My son Butch ,12 at the time, throws a pebble in the pond the water boils like pirannha fish in those jungle movies .We leave the dogs head home get the fly rods , we pulled out 32 big bows in hour a hour throwing back countless smaller ones . The dogs finally ran out and headed back to us at this pond .We gather dogs fish and treck back to the truck we stop and buy 2 pounds of butter to fry these 8 inchers .While we were just cleaning the fish a nbr shows up and cant believe our haul of bows .He is a sharp old fart and asks what have the rainbows been feeding on , i said "my hooks" well he opens one of the guts sacks and says THESE FISH ARE BEING FED MEAL . Oh oh that would explain our good luck, talk about feeling bad in our frenzie to catch fish we never thought out, in the "sheild " miles from no where would we find a stocked pond ! the fish didnt taste so great after that ~ Copey
