If not I suggest that you clean the frame on the drivers side from the front all the way to the first cab mount. Use a wire brush in a drill, or a sandblaster. Once you clean everything down to bare metal you should find something of the number. You may have a plate welded over it, or maybe heavy pitting that destroyed the number. But in my experience unless you have a truck from a very rusty area of the country you are likely to find at least a couple of the numbers.

Even in WI where all the trucks are rusty (which is why I have to buy my parts in ND, WY, MT, etc) I have managed to find the frame number on almost every truck I checked. Maybe 10% of them are too rusty to have any number left.
