Bob,

What you may have missed or am not aware of, is the engine is out of a 1969 W200, and it is a short snout water pump (drivers side lower hose and passenger side timing). I'm running that engine for the short pump, and more fan room.

This engine with the short snout pump never had, nor is there available a serpentine available. I could have switched to the newer longer water pump, but would of had space issues, as I'm running a hydraulic clutch and bell housing.

As a result, the only aftermarket V pulleys were from March, and were "power" pulleys, that under spin the accessories. My package and design required that I run a much smaller custom built power steering pump pulley. That with the smaller crank (power) pulley, resulted in the PS pump actually spinning slightly faster than stock, not slower as March pulleys would have.

This left the water pump and alternator spinning slower, and at high RPM's (high way speeds and muddling) the truck started running hot. I had a new core in the radiator, and later switched to a 15 psi cap, and the only thing left was the slower spinning water pump. So this is my solution, spin the pump back up to stock speeds, and see what happens.

I'll loose a little power, but that's not been a problem. I won't truly know now until next spring.

Later,
Will
