I have a hi volume pump in my 360 demo derby engine and it runs about 70 psi until it gets hot, then drops to 55-60. It really moves the oil, but the intsructions in the package said that the pump can make up to 80 psi. I use a heavy duty filter to keep it from blowing off.

Is there a bypass valve damaged/sticking in your motor?
