I personally would Not cut the input shaft on the tranny.I have heard of guys doing this and it works good until the bearing goes out then you have major problems.A guy I know did it that way and when the bearing went out,it took out the clutch,input shaft,and throw-out brg. shaft on his tranny.Plus it worked on the flywheel.
